( Fleetmead Monkshood ) Jet had the nick name of baby boy, he was a Male Whippet at the tender age
of just 7 years he crossed the rainbow bridge.
Mine and Jets paths crossed when he was a puppy at only 10 months old, When on my way to work i
passed a group of men in a field kicking him, so i stopped the car and walked across to them, asking
whos dog he belonged to, A large tall man with an Irish accent said he just got him, and they were
testing his Stamima to be a coursing dog, by kicking the dog it would keep running, not being able
to stop, Jet was just laying there, he did'nt have any more run in him. The bloke asked me what i
wanted ?, i just said your dog , i've give you £200. for him , Thankfully i had'nt paid my rent
money that morning as i was already running late. The bloke happly took the money and even gave me
his Pedigee papers which he also had on him, I picked the dog up and took him to the vets who gave
him a good check-up, and at the tender age of 10 months he had more cuts & scars on his small body
then that of a very old working dog, I renamed him Jet, and he became my loyal campanion, he went
every where with me, even to work at the rescue centre for pets and wildlife.
Sadley we noticed Jets health was deteriorating he suddenly went blind and deaf, and small lumps
were appearing on his body, he started to get very stressed and upset all the time, he was very
protective over his family, and the fact that he couldn't carry out this duty, that he belived was
his caused him to stress out even more,
the vet belived he had a tumor, and that was why he went blind and deaf. Our baby boy was suffering
so sadley we decided to make the difficult choice putting our boy first, We spent our last day
together going for a long walk around the field he loved, and he had goodies to eat, he loved his
food, then we said our goodbyes. Jet's ashes are still with us in a lovley Box,
but in Spirit i know Jet is alway with me.

Jet

To our Baby boy, our whippet Jet
4 Years ago you left and yet
we cant move on, we cant forget
we speak of you, still get upset

You loved to roll onto your back
you chased the ducks and make them quack
so beautiful you were, jet black
The prettiest of all the pack

Your early years did take their toll
So mother Nature took your soul
and now your pain has gone away
I know we'll meet again some day.

I’m always with you

My eyes still shine with a magical sparkle,
my coat still glistens from the first rays of sun,
my breath still warm and moist upon your hand,
my heartbeat still beating strong and true,
my love still reaching out to you my loyal trusted
friend .

Birthday Boy

Another year, Another tear,
Another time to wish you here,
Another time to sit and stare,

Another moment of thoughts to share,
Another memory of you so dear.

ONE MAN'S SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO A DOG

The one absolutely unselfish friend that
a man can have in this selfish world,
the one that never deserts him,
the one that never proves ungrateful
or treacherous, is his dog.

A man's dog stands by him in prosperity
and in poverty,
in health and in sickness.
He will sleep on the cold ground where
the wintery winds blow,
and the snow drives fiercely,
if only he may be near his master's
side. He will kiss the hand that has no
food to offer, he will lick the sores
and wounds that come in encounter with
the roughness of the world. He guards
the sleep of his Pauper master as if he
were a prince.

When all other friends desert,
he remains.
When riches take wings and reputation
falls to pieces, he is as constant in
his love as the sun in it's journey
through the heavens.
If misfortune drives the master forth
an outcast in the world, friendless
and homeless, the faithful dog asks
no higher privilege than that of
accompanying him to guard against
danger, to fight against his enemies.

And when the last scene of all comes,
and death takes the master in it's
embrace, and his body is laid away in
the cold ground, no matter if all other
friends pursue their way, there by the
graveside will the noble dog be found,
his head between his paws, his eyes sad,
but open in alert watchfulness,
faithful and true, even in death.

-From a speech given by
Former Senator George Graham Vest
of Missouri. Delivered in 1870 when he
was acting as a lawyer in a suit against
a man who had killed the dog of his
client. -- He won the case.

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Souls do not disintegrate and die:
Years pass and yet they do not fade away.
Memories are like a distant star
Pouring forth its light across the void.
All our tears and laughter do not lie:
Though we pass like dreams, our spirits stay,
Held fast by love, which is just what we are,
Yet in a form that cannot be destroyed.

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

Oh Jet you were such a little devil at times, when i had you for the first time in my life i had to put child locks on everything, other wise you would open fridge's freezers, draws and cupboards, and eat any thing and every thing! you could even pull the ring pull on tins, and one day as we all sat watching the tv, we could hear this sluping sound, when we looked we found you drinking my younger cousins McDonlds strawberry milkshake through the straw, i'm still not sure where you learnt to suck through a straw, but you was really injoying it,

A Tribute to your pet dog

When God had made the earth and sky
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds and bees.

And when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name."

And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea,
the little creature said,
"Dear Lord, there's not one left for me."

Kindly the Father said to him
"I've left you to the end
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you dog, My friend

MY HEART BELONGS TO A WHIPPET

Faster than lightning,
And up for the chase,
The Whippet is streamlined-
It moves with such grace.

Gentle and loving,
There's no better friend.
A Whippet is loyal,
And true to the end.

From the beginning,
Yes, right from the start-
I knew that sweet Whippet
Would capture my heart.

Nigth time snack

I just remembered the time you went to bed with my 15 year old son, it was a cold winter, and you so loved a warm bed, so Ash gave into you, well during the early hours Ash woke up to a very painful leg, when he pulled the sheets back there was you! sound asleep chewing on his shin bone, it seems you had one of those big bones early on that day, and was now dreaming that you was still chewing on it, Ash had a very tender shin for a couple of days.
